We completely stopped allowing visitors into our dog room for that very reason. More than once we had to boot people out for teasing dogs that are kennel reactive. Now we have albums up front that show our dogs and we will bring them out for people to meet and visit with. We had very little push back about this change when we made it about 6 years ago. I explain to people that it's all about the dogs and their comfort. People can't meet a dog or get to know their personality through a kennel, and how would they like it if strangers were peering into their windows at their home? I'd say 99% of people actually agree with us when we explain.
We do have those on half of our windows! We are looking for a solution so adopters can still see the dogs, but that the dogs aren't having to see...

Hi! There are very cost-effective vinyl window decals you can get that adhere just with water and a squeegee. I might look into those to apply to the exterior as a super cost-effective and reusable option that can be cut to size!
