  • 1.  Pet Housing Restrictions

    Hi everyone! If you or anyone you know has ever experienced housing accessibility issues because of restrictions on your pet, Humane Action Pennsylvania (HAP) would love to hear from you. HAP, along with our friends at Harmony Dog Rescue, is conducting research on barriers people have faced while trying to find housing for themselves and their pets. These could include issues like excessive security deposits/pet rent, breed and size restrictions, insurance barriers, or even eviction. Your input will help us eventually introduce legislation to ban these housing restriction practices

    This is an important initiative-thank you to HAP and Harmony Dog Rescue for tackling this issue. I've seen how heartbreaking it can be when people are forced to choose between housing and keeping their beloved pets. Breed restrictions and inflated pet fees are unfair and often based on outdated stereotypes. I'll share this with others who've faced these challenges. I'm looking forward to seeing real change come from your efforts!
