Went through the "virtual summit" for the AME program... out of 1 hour they spoke on the program maybe 20 min... the rest were about stats of adoptions and shelter concerns.
I forwarded a message to the help desk and now the text program they have associated with the AME program and i still await a respinse, which i assume at this point will not be answered!
The message was "Will not using the "optional" credit card program in the AME program ever effect partnership or donation programs with petsmart charities and partners?"
The virtual summit also did not go through any issues already arising up with the AME program.
The result of the current issues is "let's give away $1000 to 5 organizations who use the AME program" when it is a requirement to use the program after Aug 7th!
The hickups and cumbersome program makes processing uploaded animals harder, adoption paperwork harder, and lack of intel art store level harder to get answers.

HAs anyone seen the new Petsmart AME (Adoptions Made Easy) madness. This new program is to process adoptions in Petsmart stores without using the ipad that is in store. You will be able to use any device, like your own cell phone, laptop and ipad, with adopters using their own cell phone to process adoptions. I have gone through the training for the AME and already see a mess when it comes to our rescue. I have also reached out to Petsmart managers, who are left in the dark, and the help desk to make things easier for our group.
As you log into the AME you log in under your partner id, then you must pick a store, then at this point you must add your pet information. Once an adopter chooses a pet then you can process the adoption in that store.
Here are the issues I already see:
When adding a pet you can not use the same rescue pet id # in another store unless you delete it from the other store. When your group does adoption events at multiple store, i was informed that "it is best to input the animal as you process the adoptions under the store you are located!"
You can not process an adoption unless you are actually in the store you choose. This making all other adoption not part of the petsmart charities adoption qualifications(even if the adopter met the animal in store)
Then again we have the "optional" credit card processing. the current rate to use the credit card processing is $5.30+3% under a program called Strip. I am still awaiting verification of where the $5.30 goes to as Strip is a % only company(my belief is it goes back to Petsmart Charities without the client even knowing this or the partner being informed of this.)
Then here we are, using the old ipad system it gave track of adoptions with an adoption photo, the new AME system does have the capability to do this, and the AME program was unable to explain the adoption kit that petsmart gives for each adoption.
I believe as Petsmart proves to stand alone and not reach out to partners on the best route to help the partners they continue to distance themselves from Rescues and shelters true process for finding forever homes, processing adoptions and networking the animals in the organizations care. With the new AME program that is now cumbersome for not only the partners but adopters and makes life harder not "easy" for the partners while, if the partners use the "optional" credit card processing Petsmart charities does not need to be transparent on the processing fees charge of $5.30.
