Hello! I am very new to Maddies fund and I am very excited to have found this community! We have always fostered for years but we are relatively new with being a rescue in itself. We just took in a pregnant cat and I had thought about doing some sort of poll to help bring in funds to the rescue. I have thought about making a "Donate X amount and you can guess how many kittens she will have, winner can pick the theme of how we will name the kittens". We had another rescue local to us do a donate a certain amount and someone can name one of the kittens. We can't decide what would go better, or maybe do a variation of both. Has anyone had any experience or tips? Social media is something I need a lot of work on and I want to do better. Excited to hear thoughts and opinions!

If there are supplies you need for mom-to-be and kittens you can always have a Kitten Shower (just like a baby shower) w/ a registry. While monetary donation are what rescue groups primarily need, a majority of donors really love purchasing specific items. There are a lot of cute examples from groups that have had kitten showers in the past. Hope that helps!

I believe this is the direction we are going to go! I am working on an amazon wish list now and will take some cute baby shower type pictures. Thank you so much for this suggestion!

The "baby shower" is great. You can set up a wish list on Amazon so it is a purchase, click and send. I have seen that work well. Or have your wish list online like a registry where people can drop off at a petstore.

My rescue had a bunch of kittens that we raffled off the rights to name the kittens. $5 per ticket.

    Good luck!

We have done fundraisers with pregnant dogs and cats similar to what you've described, where we will ask people to sponsor a puppy or a kitten and with that sponsorship they get to name them.  We include information about what the sponsorship covers, such as vaccinations, spay/neuter (once old enough), food, vet care, etc.  People seem to really like it!

This is fantastic! This might be what we do after she has the kittens and I bet it will do well! Thank you so much for this information.
