We operate solely on donations. Id like to get ready for kitten season and be prepared to be able to start taking in mommas and kittens.  Does anyone have some documentation, supply lists etc and also what donor drives worked well for you to bring in money to prepare for kitten season.

In February 2022, we held our very first resource drive here in the forum. That month's theme was Kitten Season Resources and our members shared a bunch! That was two years ago so hopefully you'll get some new responses on your post. In the meantime, you can check out that thread and library folder:

    Hi Jennifer,

Here are some ideas I do for setting up my rescue room for kitten season. I buy pine pellets from Home Depot for liter, it's less than $8 for a 40 lb bag. I let my rewards points build up on my credit cards and I cash the points in for gift cards to chewy, Petsmart, Petco to buy kitten food. I work with a vet to pay at cost for vaccines and meds. I also of course ask followers of our social media to donate as well. I started doing more fundraising. Super Bowl boxes do very well. You can also do a 50/50 raffle. Do raffles for Easter or Passover. Maybe for spring Gardening. Do an activity like dinner and a murder mystery or physic event. Or just get a very nice item or put together a bunch of smaller items and do a raffle. Offer alot of tickets for a $25 donation versus $10. People will give more if they have more chances to win. My list consists of litter, food, cardboard liners for the crate, card board boxes for the mama and kittens, food wet and dry, toys, towels, bedding, dewormers, flea meds, syringes, Dawn liquid soap, scale to weigh kittens, intake sheets to document kittens and care. Sheets to cover crates, food trays, dishes and bowls, garbage bags, churros, lil soups for the difficult medicine takers, Gerber baby food for kittens, and KMR.

Awesome idea for the raffles tickets. we do a cash raffle for $5. per ticket and are considering hiking the price this year.We draw at fall dinner /silent auction. We also have used the pellet stove pellets for years with out problem. Cheaper, cleaner, does not track, biodegradeable.

We change and clean the pans daily. A minimal amount in each pan lasts for the day. the pallets at our big box construction stores are about $5 here. Our facebook has been a great resource for pleas of food and supplies thourghout the year. We do a "shop for the shelter"event 2 x a year.

Hi Jennifer, here at our humane society, we do a Kitten Shower at the end of March every year. Like a baby shower, but for kittens. Our staff/volunteers/fosters provide the decorations and snacks. We have our typical wish list on our website, but for this event, we make a "baby" registry on BabyList. People can come and see some of the kittens that we have and talk to fosters about the program. Last year, we did not have a ton of people show up, but we did get a lot of donations online. We took traditional baby shower games and kind of tweaked them for a kitten/puppy theme. Our typical wish list consists of all of the typical items needed for kittens. For our kitten shower, we do a big push for KMR and non-clumping litter. We also use the kitten shower to ask for specific items that would love to have, but aren't necessarily a must have item. Such as: Miracle brand nipples, Snuggle Safe warming discs, heartbeat pillows, Royal Canin Mother & Babycat mousse, etc.
