  • 1.  Public-Facing Vet Clinic Software

    Posted 08-14-2025 10:49 AM

Hello Everyone!  We, currently, use ShelterLuv to track all information for our shelter pets, but our doctor is really interested in getting vet clinic software to use strictly for our public facing services like vaccinations, spay/neuter, etc.  She does not want to have shelter and public in the same database.  I know software can be expensive, but we wanted to take a look at what all is out there.  Is anyone using vet clinic specific software?  If so, what are you using and what do you like or dislike about it?  Thank you in advance!

    Aloha,

We currently use PetPoint for shelter and Covetrus for our Community Care Center. Cons - they don't talk to each other at all, so if someone adopts a pet from us and then comes to our CCC, we have to reenter all of their information and verify their medical records in PetPoint before we can offer them services. It is also not very user intuitive, so if there are things that you want to tweak in how you use the software, you will more than likely need customer support.   Pro's - Option for clients to access their own records and schedule their own appointments, it talks to our blood machine so records are updated in real time, and the POS is a bit better than Square.

Hey Laura - Shelterluv has an integration with Clinic HQ now, so you may want to consider using that to save time on manual entry! You can learn more about the integration on their website here

    Hi,

We are using DaySmart Vet, I am just learning it, but it seems like it will be very useful. It has a treatment board built in which looks great! I will post again when I am more familiar with it.

Our rescue uses Shelterluv as well, and we've found it to be really user-friendly. It's easy to train new volunteers on, and it makes tracking dogs and adoptions much smoother. It's definitely helped us stay more organized.
