Hot off the presses is the Best Friends 2025 mid-year data report - which shows lifesaving for dogs and cats in U.S. shelters improved 19% compared with the first half of 2024. Many shelters and rescues are struggling with the volume of pets coming in, and getting these cats and dogs out safely. But even with these challenges, the data from the first six months of the year reveals important progress.
