    Hi all,

    Does anyone else use ShelterBuddy as their shelter management software? 

    If not, can you tell me which shelter management software you are currently using and if it is working well for you?

    We have been with petpoint since 2006. We went with them due to fact they provided the service free as long as we purchased their microchips. We are a small organization in Mn.and still use paper too because it works for us. We have not availed ourselves of all of the features of the program as of yet.  The metro shelter system in Twin cities and our nearest shelter neighbors all use pet point too. Helps with collaboration of transfers,etc.

    We switched from shelter buddy to ShelterLuv in 2019 and what a difference it made for us! ShelterLuv is super easy to use and it integrates with PetFinder, Petco Love Lost  and Chewys for auto uploads of all our available animals. We pay by the adoption,  I think it’s $1 per adoption. We get free microchips from Fi Nano and ShelterLuv integrates with them as well. ShelterLuv also uploads directly to Shelter Animals Count for National reporting.

    We switched to ShelterBuddy last year, and it's been great; especially if you can include VolunteerBuddy. We used to have to add volunteers in both our shelter platform and volunteer platforms, and now it's the same platform! ShelterBuddy integrates with Petfinder, and you can connect it with Adopets to automatically update your website Adoption page too. 

    We're honestly still learning to use some of the features of ShelterBuddy better, but so far it has helped (1) remove repetitive work and (2) digitalize several processes.

    I worked at a shelter for 12 years that used mostly pen and paper, then "upgraded" to a very old shelter software that we fought with daily. I now work for AnimalsFirst shelter management software in client services. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have or show you around the software.

    We just started using Shelterluv and it has been working great so far. It will definitely help automate some of our manual processes and stay better organized instead of using spreadsheets to track everything. It also automatically integrates with several other websites, such as Adopt-A-Pet and Shelter Animals Count, which automates processes like posting animals for adoption or entering our Shelter Animal Counts data each month.

    Adopt-A-Pet has also partnered with Shelterluv to provide the first year for free if you sign up before July and onboard before September. All you have to do is select "Vendor" on how you heard about Shelterluv and then type Adopt-A-Pet during the registration process and you get the first year for free.

    We use ShelterLuv and find the interface very user friendly. Database software can be cumbersome and difficult to navigate and this is not. It has clear tabs with discreet categories that make running reports for grants or pulling data for other needs easy. We keep track of our fosters and transfer partners through ShelterLuv. And it keeps track of the donations that are made at the time of adoption or by visitors.

    We switched from Shelter Manager to ShelterLuv. We truly love ShelterLuv but it was almost a year to get everything switched over to accommodate our shelter. It does have a bunch of awesome features to utilize, but we do not have a vet on site and so we had to fudge a few things to make it work. I guess what I am saying is, if you are switching software brands, do not immediately disable your old one, until you become accustomed to your new one and know all of the tricks.
