I highly recommend this workshop for anyone who is tasked with managing surrenders or helping new adoptees with proper intros.  I appreciate the reminder to be "empathetic".  It's so easy to jump on the blame train with a first-class ticket in the mean seats when all we take into consideration is the cat(s) and immediately think that this person is simply not trying hard enough.  This workshop helped me identify specific questions to ask and how to help educate people on cat behavior.  I've already had the chance to implement training from the January workshop, and it has been invaluable.  One kitty is staying in her home now that the adoptee understands more about cat behavior and proper intros.  Another kitty is taking a mulligan and will be going back to her adoptive home when they do a complete reset.  And unfortunately, another kitty did have to be surrendered for the safety of the other cat and the people in the family.  I believe there was more than behavior involved in that one, but they were not able to afford the vet bills associated with that.

Attending workshops like this is great because they are convenient, informative, relevant, and can be put into practice right away.  Thank you too to Maddie's Fund for the scholarship to take this program!  I am very grateful for the opportunity and information to help educate and inform people about cat behavior and provide tools, tips, and ideas to help keep kitties in their homes.
