Long and short, using Profender for tapeworms has been a game changer for my fosters, kittens included.… note this is off-label use for kittens.
Several years ago i was losing kittens at a pretty high rate - particularly once they hit the 4-8w mark. The shelter was calling it panleuk, but to me the symptoms didn't quite match up. Not to sound morbid, panleuk-like symptoms were there, but they were surviving beyond the 8-12 hour window. These kittens were living for several days with panleuk-like symptoms.
The aha moment came when one actually vomited worms. The shelter was opposed to using dewormers on kittens under 2m/2-3#, so I started working with my own vet for a solution to losing these babies.
One of the vet techs in particular took up my case and found Profender. Using the risk/reward approach, we started first using it on the symptomatic cases. Within 1-2 days the kittens would improve, then thrive.
I am now with a tnr group. We use Profender preventatively at about 4wks - esp if we know there are fleas, has been no history of care/deworming.
To note, we have found Centragard is not the same as Profender - you will not get the same results.
Also, in older "found" kittens (and cats) it works better than Nexgard combo. If you have a tapeworm problem, Profender will do the heavy lifting. We have not had any problems using it alongside capstar for initial flea control.
Feel free to contact me to talk further/get dosing instructions. All the best.

Subject: tapeworms in tiny kittens
We have a huge issue with flea infestations in our kittens we take in. Just this week we have 5 tiny kittens just over 1 pound, too small for drontol but they have tapeworms. One just died after passing a huge tapeworm. Does anyone have a protocol they can share regarding worming in kittens?
Thanks,
