  • 1.  TNR HELP/ advise.

    Hello from AZ !

I am the manger for a small shelter, and we are looking for some help. I am reaching out to TNR groups in our area, and they want to help us!! I need a contract with them for our city, but they haven't come up with anything just yet and we know the (season we shall not name) is starting here any day. Does anyone have something we can look at for TNR helping a shelter? We will not charge them a dime but will give vaccines if we can hold the cat, they rescue also.

    Thanks !!

I would keep it simple, I have something that might work for your shelter. I would modify it to fit your model though.

    MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU)

This Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is entered into between [TNR GROUP] and [CITY SHELTER] on [DATE] regarding their partnership in managing community cats in [CITY/AREA].

    Purpose of MOU:
The purpose of this MOU is to establish the roles and responsibilities of [TNR GROUP] and [CITY SHELTER] in managing community cats through the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    a. [TNR GROUP] will be responsible for trapping community cats and bringing them to the [CITY SHELTER] for spaying/neutering and vaccination (when cats are able to be held).
    b. [TNR GROUP] will be responsible for releasing cats to the area where they were trapped, in a responsible and humane manner, after they have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated.
    c. [TNR GROUP] will be responsible for finding suitable homes for community cats that are not able to be returned to their original location.
    d. [CITY SHELTER] will provide spaying/neutering and vaccination services to community cats brought in by [TNR GROUP] at no cost to [TNR GROUP].
    e. [CITY SHELTER] will provide [TNR GROUP] with the necessary equipment and supplies needed for the TNR program, such as traps and carriers, at no cost to [TNR GROUP].

    Duration of MOU:
This MOU will become effective on [DATE] and will remain in effect until [DATE].

    Termination of MOU:
Either party may terminate this MOU at any time by providing written notice to the other party.

    Amendment of MOU:
This MOU may be amended or modified by mutual agreement of both parties.

    Governing Law:
This MOU will be governed by the laws of [STATE/PROVINCE] and any disputes arising out of this MOU will be resolved in accordance with those laws.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this MOU on the date and year first above written.
