UPDATE: We decided to go with Shelter Clinic Manager. That specifies that the clinic serves the shelter, not the public. Thanks to everyone for your ideas.
-----
We are a smaller private animal shelter (1,000 dogs, cats and critters annually), managed admission. When fully staffed our vet clinic has one part-time veterinarian and one full-time registered vet tech. Our services are restricted to our shelter animals -- no public services at this time.
Our veterinarian opted to return to private practice this summer, and our RVT has soldiered on keeping everything organized, rallying support from local private clinics and finding a relief vet who can come in regularly to keep our spays and neuters on track. She is really doing a lot of work.
Today I got an email from her asking if she could have a title.
I've spent half an hour looking at other organizations' websites, and I don't really see a structure for calling vet staff other than their professional titles -- RVT in her case. She's not a medical director, nor does clinic manager seem appropriate, since we don't operate a clinic.
I think she's looking for recognition of all she's doing, and I do recognize that. But I'm not going to set a precedent of making up titles.
Does anyone have any legit vet staff titles that might work?
