What's a good material to use for Kennel Cards?

What's a good material to use for Kennel Cards? My shelter began using sheets that had photos and good descriptions, but they didn't age well - curled with moisture. (Maybe we just need to have someone responsible for checking them and changing out ones that need it.)

Place the sheet inside a sheet protector. Tape the opening.

Any suggestions for kennel cards that are outside? Our dogs go to outdoor lots during the day and we have problems with moisture also.

We use those clear plastic job ticket holders (like they use at car garages). They work well at keeping our printed kennel cards dry :) Here's a link for an example on Amazon, we get ours from Uline though

We use dry erase pockets to put our printed cage cards in. They keep them dry, look nice, and last quite a while. It is also easy to make notes on the pocket and erase it off if needed. You can get them in a variety of colors. We use reinforced ticket holders like this:  https://www.staples.com/Staples-Heavyweight-Vinyl-Top-Loading-Workorder-Protecting-Pockets-Clear-8-1-2-x-11-25-Box/product_812756

What about for Kennel cards that are only a half sheet of paper? Our kennel cards print on a full sheet of paper but we then fold it in half hamburger style, if that makes sense. I have attached a copy of one of our kennel cards to show how they print.

We use "ticket holders" - you can order either half sheet or full sheet size, they tend to last a long time - hang them at eye level though so dogs can't jump up and tear them down.  They are pretty inexpensive.

One option is using Tyvek paper.  There are some limitations - it's expensive and doesn't work with all printer types, but if you don't have a lot of turnover in your animal population, it could make sense.  It's waterproof and doesn't fade quickly.  You can order through Amazon and through the major office product companies.  Just be sure your printer is compatible with the material.

You can also laminate (hot or cold) but that also gets expensive if you have high turnover (material and labor cost)

The plastic sleeves work well - consider mounting them upside down so moisture and debris don't fall inside.

    Good luck!
