When you create a Maddie's Pet Forum account, you will automatically be joined to the main Animal Welfare Professionals community an hour after your account is created. You will still be able to view all discussions and resources during that time.

If you don't want to wait the hour to be added to the community, you can simply add yourself by going to the community home page:
https://forum.maddiesfund.org/communities/community-home?CommunityKey=afce7f7a-fd5a-431e-9f2a-aaedc46a03d6 and clicking on the teal "Join Community/Group" button on the right hand side of the screen.  After clicking that button, you'll see the following pop-up asking you to select how you'd like to be notified about new content (discussions and library resources) added to the community via email. Alternatively, you can update your notification settings at anytime here: https://forum.maddiesfund.org/profile/myaccount/preferences?

    Your email notification options are:

    1. Personalized Digest (All matching items are eligible to be included)
    2. Personalized Digest & real-time discussion threads for stated interests
    3. I would like to opt-out of receiving email messages

Please Note: These settings apply only to the Animal Welfare Professionals community in Maddie's Pet Forum. If you are a member of other communities/groups in MPF, your notification settings will differ.

Personalized Digest, Personalized Digest & Real-Time Emails, No Email

    1. Personalized Digest

The personalized digest selection means that you will receive a daily email summarizing all content relevant to your preferences, interests and activity in the Animal Welfare Professionals Community. If you haven't engaged with much on Maddie's Pet Forum, your personalized digest will also include popular content including the most read discussions, most recommended/liked discussions and most favorited content by fellow community members.

    Personalized Digest

*By default, you will receive the Personalized Digest Email when you are added to the community unless you change the setting when you manually join the group as explained above.

Here's an example of a personalized digest email:

    2. Personalized Digest & Real Time Emails

Your second option for notification settings in the Animal Welfare Professionals Community is the "Personalized Digest & Real Time Emails" option.

In addition to receiving the personalized digest with a summary of content at the end of the day, you'll also receive what we call "Real Time" email notifications. The real time emails mean you'll receive an individual email immediately after a reply or new discussion is created in topics you are following. Choosing this option will exclude discussion activity from the personalized digest email so that you're not presented the same information twice.

The #1 perk of receiving the Real Time Emails is that you'll be able to respond to any new discussions or threads right from your email inbox. That's right! There's no need to sign into the forum to respond to discussions when you've opted in to receive Real Time emails.

    Here's an example of a Real-Time email:

    3. No Email

The final notification setting is No Email and is as simple as it sounds. You will not receive any daily email notifications about new discussions or events in the Animal Welfare Professionals Community on Maddie's Pet Forum. However, you will still receive email notifications if someone mentions you in a post, replies to content you've created or forum admins send administrative emails.

    To turn off
all forum related notifications, you'll also need to adjust your Email Preferences here: https://forum.maddiesfund.org/profile/myaccount/preferences?section=email. Please note that you cannot opt-out of system related notifications required to confirm your participation.

If you have any questions about your notification settings, feel free to leave them in the comments below or contact us at forumhelp@maddiesfund.org
