Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: National Shelter Medicine Rounds. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.

    Hi all,

Please see the invitation below from the UW National Rounds team. We will discuss basic guidelines we are developing for shelters, rescues, TNR programs and others that are handling high cat volumes where there is meaningful risk of introduction of this virus. This will be an informal meeting where we will share the draft guidelines, the rationale for these recommendations, and surface additional discussion, questions and suggestions.

Feel free to forward this invite to other shelters, clinics or rescue groups that may be impacted. Hope to see you tomorrow at 12:30 PST.

    Kate

    Dear colleagues,

Join us tomorrow December 20, 2024 at 2:30-3:30pm CT, for a special session of National Shelter Medicine Rounds focusing on H5N1 and its implications for animal shelters and animal welfare professionals. This timely discussion will address the latest updates on the virus, its potential impact on shelter operations, and key considerations for safeguarding both animals and staff. A concise list of recommendations for shelters will be shared following the session to support your preparedness efforts. We hope to see you there for this critical conversation.

    Sincerely,

The University of Wisconsin Shelter Medicine Program
