One Health Clinic Boston Data
Inspiration for this endeavor began with the University of Washington and Washington State University's One Health Clinic in Seattle.
This integrated human and veterinary medical service provides care to human patients experiencing and at risk of homelessness, particularly youth, and their pets. At the same time, it provides training for the next generation of healthcare professionals, from medical, social work, and pharmacy to veterinary, public health, and nursing students.
"The aim of this project is to determine the best way to integrate human and animal medical care... and to leverage positive aspects of the human-animal bond." -Dr. Peter Rabinowitz, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences professor, professor of family medicine in the UW School of Medicine, professor of global health in the Department of Global Health, and director of UW’s Center for One Health Research
