May is Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month

Since 1984, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA)

has designated May as a time to shine a spotlight on the

impact of asthma and allergies. This year's theme,

"Make asthma and allergy treatments accessible for all,"

is a powerful reminder of the challenges many face.

Despite some progress over the past decade, around 1 in 6 adults with asthma still skip necessary medications due to cost. This is a critical issue, as proper treatment can greatly improve quality of life and prevent serious complications.

Even though the rate has gone down in the past ten years, about 1 in 6 adults with asthma still skip medicines due to cost.

Dr. Liza Cahn points out that it's not just humans who are affected-our pets can also suffer from allergies and environmental irritants, which may trigger asthma-like symptoms.

Asthma and allergies can bring an emotional, social, and financial burden
to families caring for those affected-human or animal.

💬 We want to hear from you!
Do you or someone in your family (including pets) struggle with asthma or allergies? What has your experience been with accessing care and treatment?
