FVHP staff works with both the veterinarian and the family to provide pets with the necessary medical treatment so they can live out their lives in a loving and caring environment.
- The Pet Fund (http://www.thepetfund.com/ or 916.503.0550) Only works on non-urgent care such as long-term chemotherapy and non-urgent surgeries as well as medication grants. An overview of the program is located on the For Pet Owners page: https://www.thepetfund.com/for-pet-owners.
- Red Rover (http://www.redrover.org/) Offers financial assistance grants so pet caregivers can care for animals who need urgent veterinary care (through their relief grants program).
- Banfield Pet Hospital (https://www.banfield.com/) Banfield Pet Hospital HOPE Funds program offers financial assistance for income-qualified pet owners whose pet is suffering from an immediately life- threatening condition. You do not need to be an existing Banfield Pet Hospital client to apply for HOPE Funds, but treatment will need to be done at a Banfield Pet Hospital. Please contact your local Banfield Pet Hospital for more information.
- Brown Dog Foundation (browndogfoundation.org) Works with the clinic and the family to find the best, most affordable path to saving the pet.
- The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation provides medical care funds to individuals struggling to cover their veterinary bills for serious ailments, and to shelters and rescue organizations that need assistance to cover necessary medical treatments for dogs awaiting adoption. Application is on-going and organizations can apply here: https://www.bowwowbuddies.com/apply-for-grant/.The Mosby Foundation (http://www.themosbyfoundation.org/) Provides financial assistance for non-routine medical care for sick, abused and neglected dogs; helps with cancer treatment costs, and assistance to low to moderate income families for spay/neuter services.
- Paws 4ACure (http://www.paws4acure.org/) Provides financial assistance throughout the U.S. to those who cannot afford veterinary care.
- Frankie's Friends (https://www.frankiesfriends.org/apply-for-assistance-3) provides financial assistance grants to family owned pets in need of lifesaving emergency or specialty veterinary care whose caregivers cannot afford the full cost of treatment.
- Hope Mending Hearts (http://www.hopemendinghearts.net/grant-process/) provides financial assistance grants so pet owners, Good Samaritans and rescuers can care for animals who need urgent veterinary care; resources for pet owners struggling with economic hardship and resources for victims of domestic violence and deploying soldiers. The typical grant is $100-$200.
