Resources for pet parents and fosters to navigate caregiver burden

    Hi everyone,

As a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach and International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care Certified Advocate, I know firsthand how much heart, energy, and physical labor foster parents and adopters pour into caring for senior, chronically ill, or special-needs animals. Fostering high-needs pets is profoundly rewarding, but it also carries a heavy daily toll-and burnout is a very real challenge for foster retention.

I am opening registration for an upcoming 6-week online coaching group, Navigating Pet Caregiver Strain with Resilience, starting October 4 (Saturdays, 10:00–11:30 AM PT / 1:00–2:30 PM ET).

This group offers a structured, supportive space for caregivers to build resilience and manage energy, sleep, fear, guilt, and anticipatory grief while caring for aging and ill animals. It is designed for ongoing caregivers (rather than acute end-of-life crisis) and tailored specifically to help prevent burnout before caregivers hit a breaking point.

If you have foster parents, volunteers, or adopters in your network currently caring for high-needs animals who could use extra peer and professional support, please feel free to share this resource with them.

You can find full program details and registration info at petguardianwellness.com.

Thank you all for the incredible work you do every day for these animals and the people who care for them!

    Best,
