Thank you for inviting me to join this community. I am excited to be here!

My name is Janet Hendrickson, and I am a Nurse Practitioner and the President/Founder of People and Pets Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to implementing and promoting Clinical One Health. We are based in Macon, Georgia, and we offer regular One Health Clinics. Our tagline is "Healthcare for Both Ends of the Leash!" In addition to our clinics, we have started providing spay/neuter services for participants in our One Health Clinics and for local rescue organizations. We also hold an annual One Health Clinic in Guatemala, which is scheduled for June 22-27, 2025. This year, we have 25 volunteers joining us from across the country, and we would love for you to join us in 2026!

We also focus on training the next generation of healthcare providers by collaborating with a cohort of medical students from Mercer University School of Medicine each year. This year, a veterinary student from the University of Georgia has joined our efforts!

Lastly, we acknowledge that the veterinary community has a stronger understanding of the One Health concept compared to the human healthcare sector. To address this, we spearhead IRB-approved research for publication in journals focusing on primary care, community health, and public health.

You can read this article about us featured in Macon Magazine to learn more about our work.

Thank you Janet for sharing your program with us!

What great work. Thank you and all those that make it possible!

One Health Clinics are becoming more popular as the need for care increases in humans and their non-human family members. What a great example!
