Wellness is not only an individual responsibility. Our health is shaped by our workplaces, homes, communities, access to care, relationships with animals, and the condition of our shared environment.
National Wellness Month is an opportunity to consider well-being through a One Health lens:
👥 For people and workplaces: Build cultures where rest, healthy boundaries, movement, hydration, social connection, caregiving, and mental health support are not simply encouraged-they are made possible.
🐾 For pets: Make time for preventive veterinary care, appropriate nutrition and activity, enrichment, rest, grooming, and attention to behavioral and emotional well-being.
🌎 For our shared environment: Conserve water and energy, reduce waste, choose safer products, protect green spaces, and recognize how environmental conditions affect the health of people, pets, wildlife, and communities.
To help turn wellness intentions into sustainable daily practices, we are sharing our August 2026 Pet-Inclusive National Wellness Month Calendar, featuring 31 simple activities that pet families can do together. Please adapt activities to each person's and animal's age, health, mobility, species, local weather conditions, and veterinary or medical guidance.
