In observance of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Association of Asian Veterinary Medical Professionals (AAVMP) is hosting a webinar centered around well-being for Asian American veterinarians on May 23rd at 2pm ET.
Caroline Fernandes, PhD, is a licensed psychotherapist, educator, and the CEO/Owner of InnerVision Holistic Counseling, specializing in mindfulness-based practices, wellness, spirituality, and cross-cultural holistic healing. Her clinical focus includes complex trauma and PTSD, the wounded healer archetype, and compassion and empathy fatigue, particularly among caregiving professionals.
As a first-generation Asian American woman of Portuguese Indian heritage, Caroline brings a culturally responsive and deeply attuned lens to her work. She explores how identity, intergenerational expectations, and professional roles shape wellbeing, burnout, and resilience, especially within high-responsibility careers such as healthcare.
Grounded in her own commitment to wellbeing, Caroline practices mindfulness and finds restoration through hiking, reading, photography, expressive arts, and travel.
