Hi Eduardo,
I just checked out your website -what a great thing you all are doing!
I think one health topic that presents a huge accessibility challenge is affordable and dental care. A webinar that is specific to preventive care for those with limited resources would be super valuable. There are so many barriers to preventive care, from cost for dental care at the veterinary clinic, to overwhelm of products for home care, their cost, and how to use them, etc. As well as being able to effectively brush or wipe your dog's teeth due to physical limitations or your dog's acceptance of being brushed, etc. -often that's not realistic for valid reasons.
There is also so much marketing around dental treats/chews as well, when many of those products don't really help at all, or minimally at best, while also being very expensive, but get purchased anyway so that pet parents feel they are at least doing something. Also just helping with understanding and expecting likely future needs -a full dental cleaning with extractions in older pets being pretty standard -and then the challenge of how to afford and access that. Maybe some veterinary practices in the community are more open to low cost dentals than others and might have thoughts on the matter?
We often enough see animals coming through our spay/neuter clinic with dental disease already beginning or in process. It's such an ongoing part of lifetime care, and so frustrating that it is so involved and expensive.
Sincerely,
Audrey
