Dr. Azalia Boyd is a seasoned clinician, speaker, and cultural intelligence consultant. She is the founder of Boyd Veterinary Services and Consulting and the host of Critters and Cultures, a podcast that explores how culture shapes our relationships with animals and with each other through real conversations and global stories.
With a long-standing background in emergency and small animal medicine, Dr. Boyd brings practical insight and a community-centered approach to her work. She partners with organizations, professionals, and students to deepen empathy, strengthen cross-cultural understanding, and expand access to care across animal and human health fields. Her work includes mentorship programs, international collaborations, and workshops on cultural agility, DEI, and One Health principles.
She is passionate about creating spaces that honor lived experience, challenge assumptions, and bring more humanity to the work we do with both people and animals.
