    Need some input please.
What is your policies on adopting to people you KNOW  are not allowed pets in an apartment/rental?

We have a few apartment/companies in our town that are not pet-friendly. When someone comes to adopt an animal and list one of the complex's as their address, the staff cannot agree whether to allow the adoption to happen. We do not require landlord permission, as we encourage each adopter to understand their rental contract and their responsibility of adoption, but if we did start asking for these, would it cut back on our "returns" because people realize they have a "no-pet" policy?
On one hand, the pet gets out of our facility for a day or two before inevitably being brought back due to the landlord/rental agreement. However,  part of the staff think it can harm the pets more by being "returned" when they could have denied the adoption and kept the animal available to meet a possible adopter. It gets frustrating for the front staff to do all the adoption registration and paperwork to have to return the animal the next day, but most importantly, is it good for the animal or should we be more careful on these places?

    Thanks for any ideas!

I completely understand the frustration of returned adoptions due to landlord conflicts. To address this, let's shift our approach to proactive education. Instead of requiring landlord permission, we can provide adopters with resources on understanding rental agreements and the importance of adhering to pet policies. This way, we empower them to make informed decisions, reducing the likelihood of returns. Additionally, let's explore collaborations with local property managers to encourage more pet-friendly policies. By combining education and outreach, we can enhance the adoption experience for both our adopters and the animals.
