We at WAGS are thrilled to have taken on the Open Arms Challenge, aiming to increase pet adoptions among non-English-speaking communities. Our efforts have resulted in 15 videos created and 5 successful adoptions, with the help of our dedicated staff providing on-site translations. This is a significant win for us!
While we are excited about our participation, we have encountered some challenges. The translation process, though effective, has been time-consuming. We create the videos in English first and then use RASK AI for translation and dubbing. We involve a two-person team for video recording, voice-over, and uploading to platforms like TikTok, YouTube, RASK, Instagram, and Facebook. Each video takes about 1-2 hours from start to finish, which we recognize as a loss in terms of time and resources. Additionally, despite our efforts to optimize video posting, we have not seen a significant increase in viewership compared to similar content.
Nevertheless, WAGS remains committed to finding new ways to enhance our outreach to the community, including exploring different strategies for translating and dubbing videos and encouraging our diverse staff to participate in voiceovers. We are grateful for the opportunity to challenge ourselves and will continue to strive to improve our efforts to welcome all community members with open arms.
