What did your organization do that helped to ensure its success? What things did you do that helped it to run smoothly?

We have 2 big outdoor fundraising events. One is hosted by a popular, restaurant/ bar and a wine bar next door. They both are dog friendly and the event is held in their parking lot.

At both events we have live music, silent auction, vendors, contests and food and drinks. We always bring some of our adoptable dogs to showcase.

We just had our 2nd event of the year last weekend and it was AMAZING! It is hosted by a small community at their beautiful outdoor park that backs up to water channel going out to the bay.

This year we had more volunteers than ever, which included students from a high school, a local college, and volunteers from a group that helps animal shelters.

We always do pretty well at both events. I think last weeks even was as successful as it was due , in part, to the perfect weather for a dog and family friendly outdoor event. Mother Nature did us proud. Typically, here in Gulf Coast Texas, it's  still hot and humid.

The volunteers helped with everything, including breakdown, filling water bowls for dogs, helped man our booths, clean up and breakdown. We had some really awesome silent auction items, we had agility and k9 police demos, in addition to live music. Our vendors were happy with the turn out!

Besides the weather being perfect, I can't honestly say one thing made it a success but everything came together due to amazing organizational skills, fliers promoting the event, great auction items and vendors, as well as a ton of public participation. We had more visitors attend, and stay for the majority of the event and participate in the contests we had.

We always do pretty well at both events, but we made well above our goal at this event!

Congratulations on a great turnout and successful fundraiser!  How exciting, and fulfilling for everyone involved.

I haven't done a fundraiser for an animal shelter, but have been involved as a volunteer for a different kind of non-profit that wasn't pet related.

I wish you many more successful events, with ever growing community involvement, community awareness and of course raising funds for your organization.

Thank you so much! We just got our final tally for the fundraiser and it was way above our goal! It was an outstanding event. 😊

Our most successful adoption event would have to be our Clear The Shelter event.  We have a huge turn out every year and all though we don't adopt out all of our animals that day, we do adopt out 40-50 in that day which is awesome!

Clear the Shelters! Have a detailed volunteer plan and flow for adopters and animals. Had pets fully vetted and ready to go. Police to direct parking and traffic. Unbelievable media coverage from NBC and Telemundo.

We recently started doing a few week-long adoption events, which have proven to be more effective for us because we have more time to promote and share on social. We'll be trying some more of these in the near future!
