Hello! I adopted a pup from a shelter and he has terrible separation anxiety. Has anyone used CBD (with no THC) for their pets? Any insight is helpful.

I use CBD oil for my two senior dogs, but that is for arthritis, as I have seen the sole study on how it can improve mood for arthritic dogs. To date, there isn't any published research (none that I've seen) that confirms the use of CBD oil for any other condition.

However, I do have experience with SA and I know it is a very serious issue for some dogs. I would forego such a self treatment and seek the help of a professional like Malena Martini, who has a lot of experience with SA. See her website-

True separation anxiety often requires a combination of behavior modification along with pharmaceuticals, but to diagnose properly, take a look at Malena's FAQ.

I use CBD for my dog's anxiety, which also might help with separation anxiety. My dog has Epilepsy and I find CBD helps calm him down after an episode. I've also heard a lot of success stories this last 4th of July of people using CBD to calm their pets for the loud fireworks.

Maybe be worth a shot, I use these: https://elixinol.com/product/category/cbd-pet-treats/  The hard chews are pretty tough, so if your dog is a bit older you may want to try the soft chews they offer.
