    Hello,

I'm looking for shelters that have added a mobile adoption trailer to their programming. I'm interested to see if they have had a positive impact on adoptions or other types of outreach. Thanks!

The shelter I volunteer at has one and without a doubt, it helps to get more animals out and that increases the chance for adoption.

We have one. The demand for us to come do mobile adoptions has definitely increased but we haven't seen a spike in adoptions as a result unfortunately. Our mobile adoption events seem like more of a spectacle at this point. We are still working out the kinks. It's hard to explain to insurance and dental offices why we don't want to book them instead of a pet store location. I think people see it as a traveling petting zoo. At least that's our experience but again, we are working out the kinks still. Comes in handy for transports though!

I'm with Haven Animal Rescue of Texas in Burleson County Texas. We initially used a Ford Escape for moving dogs to events and vet appointments. This year we added a 12 person bus that a nursing home had replaced. It has a chair lift and front and rear doors. We removed the seating and the seat belts in the back and use it as our primary transport locally. We are using the seat rails for tie downs. Its primary use is for transporting dogs and cats to our monthly Spay/Neuter clinics, to take pets to transport pick up locations and to events in our area.  We are still finding ways to use it , We leave pets in it at events if it's real hot, utilizing the 3 Aur conditioning units. We've used it for a temporary quarantine after assisting the City serve an impound warrant. We had 23 chihuahuas in individual crates with air to allow us to assess the dogs and determine needs for intake.

It has proven to be a very handy tool and we continue to find ways to utilize it
