Hi everyone,

Just reaching out to see if anyone on here has cool plans for volunteer appreciation week during COVID-19? 

Fyi, we had planned on having a large party for 300+ volunteers and fosters to celebrate, recognize, and hand out awards.

Any ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!   

Maybe spend the money to give them small gift cards to PetCo instead, with a personal thank you note? Or hold a virtual thank you on Zoom.and award the volunteers then?  Whatever you decide they will appreciate it!

I second Alison's suggestion for a virtual appreciation party! You could turn it into a happy hour and ask volunteers to join with a beverage of choice to celebrate. Zoom is great for this. You can also use social media to highlight the work of your volunteers, share stories, make posts about the awards and tag the recipients. With all of the social distancing, being able to see someone through the screen would be a great motivator and way to reconnect.
