Animal Welfare Professionals

I am a veterinary student at the University of Missouri that will be graduating in May 2019. I am hoping to work in a shelter medicine setting after graduation but am finding it difficult to locate opportunities for new graduates outside of the match (VIRMP). I have been looking at job postings on the ASV and AVMA websites but wanted to see if anyone had additional advice for a soon-to-be graduate.
