  • 1.  Decision Tree for answering phones/owner retention counseling

    Thought I would share my current project. I'm making the back end of a help desk, and I've been working on this decision tree that would allow volunteers to answer the phone and still accomplish some form of owner retention counseling. This is just a very small version of all of the info it would have to eventually have but I thought you guys might like to see it.

    Audrey, this is super helpful. Please keep us posted with the progress. If there's any opportunity to make this more widely available, I'm sure a LOT of shelters could benefit from this streamlined approach.

    Thanks Mike. I would love to see a version of this that could be for national use. It would definitely be a project I would love to work on! (With some better software that is a bit more user friendly.)

    I'm using this current one as a piece of a larger project to reverse engineer the help desk and identify/compile which resources our community needs to make available or improve.

    This looks great! The SF SPCA has a pretty well developed program. You might want to connect with them to avoid reinventing the wheel? I can do an intro if you would like!

    Sheila,

      I'm looking at how shelters provide volunteers with support to answer pet retention questions. This decision tree allows volunteers to work through scenarios and land on an answer of what referral to fill out, which will allow a more experienced staff member to touch base with them and help try and retain ownership of the pet.
