  • 1.  Shelter Emergency Plans

    We are in the process of updating our emergency plan for our facility. The plan will include guidelines for our response to various incidents including fires, power loss, armed assailants, suspicious packages, bomb threats, etc. and outline evacuation and lockdown protocols.  Please share your plans (or links to them) if you think they might be helpful templates for our organization and others to follow.

    Hi Chris,

    We recently updated ours as well.  We are an open-access shelter in Fort Wayne,IN.  Maybe it will help give you some ideas.

    Hi Chris,

    Here is some info from our Safety and Security Manager who oversees our plans:

     

    NY has their own state plan, like Cal/OSHA for CA. I would advise them to use a template from their state, otherwise they may miss some state required elements. They can start with the OSHA eTool, which will create a basic outline, then add in their state requirements.
