Community Cat Day, aka Global Cat Day, formerly Feral Cat Day is coming up on October 16th. This is a great opportunity to spotlight content around community cat programs, community cat caregivers, community cats living their best life in the outdoors. 

From a public relations perspective, community cat day enhances the opportunity that media will pick up stories about outdoor cats and the programs that help them.  The media loves a good holiday. 

From a marketing and community perspective, we can leverage the "holiday" to educate and inspire folks to help and advocate for community cats. 

Some ideas on how you can leverage Community Cat Day with your audiences: 
- Social media posts about community cat caregivers. Anything from pictures of them in action or short videos. 
- Share stats and facts about Community cat programming in your neck of the woods.  Share metrics on spay/neuter services. Population reduction ( if you have this),  cat save rate increases, etc. 
- Explain, in a very simple fashion, the definition and the benefits of TNVR. The concept and process of ear tipping ( it does not hurt the cats). 
- Pitch local media on the celebration of community cat day

I would love to see messaging highlighting the positive impact Community Cat Programming yields. We know there are a million ways CCP improves the lives of cats and residents, but not everyone thinks of them!
Did you reunite a missing cat with its family thanks to your CCP?
Are residents happier with less kittens born and healthier cats? Maybe one can talk about that.
Nuisance calls drop?
Pankleuk and FeLV intakes down? You can thank robust CCP work for that!
Is Bruiser, the notorious giant local tomcat now the picture of health and happiness post-neuter? Let me see him!
Has Bruiser eliminated the rat problem from his neighborhood and his caregiver says so? Tell me!
