    Hello Open Arms Challenge Participants!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Open Arms Challenge and opened your arms and hearts to more adopters, volunteers and community members! We know it was hard work, and we appreciate you!

Now we want to know: did you have an "Aha Moment" during this Challenge? Did you get a flash of inspiration while you were planning your new policies or programs? Or maybe you had a 'eureka' moment during the Challenge itself or while you were reviewing your data to submit your participation report?  Let us know – we'd love to hear all about it!

    Cheers,

    Kelly

During the challenge, we made plans on expanding our communications to another language to help community members feel more at home when filling out forms, etc. The Ah ha! Moment came when we realized we could do that with the dogs and cats too. We are now paying attention to the language spoken in the home of surrendered animals so we can help ease their transition to the shelter in yet another way - by using or playing the language they are used to.

Misty, WOW! What a revelation! That's so smart. Of course pets are going to understand the language from the home they were living in more than a new language!

That's such a great point. I never thought about how much language could impact a pet's comfort level, what an eye  opening idea.

I really enjoyed seeing how small changes can make a big difference in outcomes. For example, when I was organizing a local volunteer event, we shifted just a few responsibilities around, and suddenly the workflow felt so much smoother. It reminded me of moments like when planning trips-sometimes even small adjustments to timing or routes, like what I noticed when using services like https://bostonlimotravel.com/, can completely change the experience for everyone involved. Those little insights often stick with you longer than the big plans.
