    Hi everyone,

    Our municipal shelter is starting our foster program in the next few months and we have been asked by the city to reach out to other shelters to see what is included in their liability contracts for foster volunteers.   If anyone is able to show a copy of your liability agreement, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Best of luck to you in starting your new foster program! If you haven't already done so, I recommend checking out the four Foster folders in the forum library to see what's been shared so far. Some of the Foster Manuals have their foster agreements included in their manuals like the Humane Society of West Michigan's Canine Foster Manual, Feline Foster Manual and Emergency Foster Manual shared by @Lindsey Frontjes.  Also check out the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe's Foster Application and Agreement that @ERIN ELLIS shared in our forum library. The agreement/liability portion is at the bottom of the contract.

    Here are some resources that may be useful:
    • Foster agreement that has been used by 3 municipalities (who reviewed the legal framework, but note that it's different in every state)
    • This document that outlines steps in creating a foster program
