  • 1.  Pet-friendly emergency shelters

    We are the city animal services contractor for our area and assist with disaster preparation and response. We struggle to get volunteers to show up when shelters open and would like to have our county adopt a co-sheltering model so that it is clear pet owners are responsible for caring for their animals. Does anyone have best practice resources for this kind of a co-sheltering model?

    Hi Stephanie. My Dog Is My Home's most recent conference had a panel discussion on co-sheltering people and pets in disasters.
