  • 1.  Rabies tag reporting...

Good afternoon!! Does anyone have any helpful ideas for tracking rabies tags/licensing? Currently all 68 clinics in our county send us PAPER copies/reports of the tags they sold. This means we don't have a good fast way to reunite pet using rabies tags and I can't easily pull out ones that received fertile permits to inform them about our spay/neuter ordinance. I'm trying to come up with a new system but feel like it will be hard to get clinics on board. It may be relevant for y'all to know that the clinics get their rabies tags from us and pays for what they sell. Any idea would be greatly appreciated!!

Well, since they get the tags from you, you hold all the power. Almost anything would be better than paper copies! You could start with something like google docs and require everyone to enter the information there instead of sending you paper copies. Or you can find out what electronic systems they are already using and have them give you access, or export spreadsheets for you. Or find some new system for everyone to use to enter the rabies info.

Give them some time adjust and then begin requiring the electronic-only system before giving them any new rabies tags. They'll adjust.
