We are revamping our foster program and wanted to start tracking foster volunteer hours. I have seen varying information on how other groups track these. I am compiling all the info I can find to present to management so they can decide how they would like us to track hours.

    Any info would be helpful!

We recently looked into this as well and decided to go with 3hrs a day. It seemed to be the consensus amongst a lot of other shelters. Hopefully, that is helpful.

    Hello there!

Within our shelter systems, we are actually able to run a report that counts as the foster volunteer hours. This is how it's done for us:

    1. To determine the volunteer hours you will need to return back to Reports Website in PetPoint and Select Animal Length of Stay. You will change the following:

    1. Foster Period: Include only

    1. Intake Start Date: Intake End Date: These date's will reflect the specific time that you are wishing to report. ( In this case, I am reporting these hours for the entire year so this will be a big number! )

    1. Group by: Species

    1. Detail/Summary: Summary

    1. The Total Days = total volunteer hours.

    Hope this helps!
