I just had someone "donate" $1 through our website. It obviously looked weird so I did some investigating; the address was fake so I'm sure the name and email address were fake as well. I contacted Stripe (our payment processor) and apparently this is how the scam works: they donate (or otherwise make some kind of payment), then they dispute it, which in turn costs you time, effort, and money because you are responsible for paying the dispute fee. I'm so glad I caught it; all I had to do was issue a refund and then block the email address and card used. Please stay vigilant, everyone!
