Here is an idea that I implemented with a friend years ago. It really can be done any time of year. We put together a singles party for pet owners benefitting the SPCA in Dallas, TX. We got a reduced rate on a ballroom in a nice hotel, had a dj, My friend created a great logo, and we had fun activities. We called it "The Rock, Ruff, and Rollover". We had an owner pet lookalike contest as well as a team mummy decorating contest ( toilet papers and stuff from Party City while Monster Mash played). There was a bar and h'ors delivers. It was a blast and we made a profit. This could be done any time of year using different themes.
