    Hello!

If you are an employee of one of CalAnimals' member organizations, and are readying yourself to step into the role of CEO, you are invited to apply to participate in the CalAnimals Executive Leadership Program.

This program was designed to build a pipeline of executives prepared to step into the CEO role. This program is also open to CEOs/Directors new to their role who wish to improve their leadership skills and ensure their approach will yield the best outcomes. CAELP participants will leave with a strong foundation that will support their personal and professional development with resources, coaching, and best practices shared in a collaborative learning environment.

We are seeking candidates that are preparing to step into the CEO/Director role at a shelter or animal control agency within the next 1 to 3 years. This FREE program for CalAnimals members is designed to round out your knowledge of what it takes to be a truly effective leader by covering all major subject areas.  If you want to be the next CEO/director/manager for a private/non-profit or government agency, then this program is for you!

A few high-level program details are below:

    • Program Dates: Every Thursday (with some exceptions) January 9th through June 12st, 12:00pm to 2:30pm
    • Dedicated Time: Approximately 10-12 hours per month comprised of the weekly Zoom meetings and group project preparation.
    • Virtual Sessions will include guest speakers, deep dives into executive-level topics, along with networking and collaboration opportunities with animal welfare organizations throughout the state.
    • Participants will be assigned to a small group at the start of the program to work on a collaborative project to be completed and presented at the conclusion of the program.

Please click here to complete the application and submit your resume by Thursday, October 31, 2024.

You'll hear from us no later than Sunday, November 17th, 2024, with an update on program acceptance.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors Michelson Found Animals, Maddie's Fund, and, Wallis Annenberg PetSpace for so generously making this program possible, as this enables us to offer this program at no cost to participants.

We would also like to thank Marissa Sunny (Pasadena Humane), Cameron Posada (Wallis Annenberg PetSpace), and Jasmine Glover-McNamara (City of San Bernardino Department of Animal Services) for their dedication and leadership for planning and organizing the fifth CAELP cohort.

    Thank you!

    Jill
