We do a weekly post (on Mondays) of all the pets who went home "last week" (our adoption days are Tuesday-Saturday). If the pet returned during the same window (i.e. adopted Tues, back Wed), we won't post them, but otherwise we do! Sometimes they are returned after we post the photos and it just... is what it is. It really isn't an issue; like we've never had people putting a bunch of comments on the photos because of it or something!

You'll notice we don't have a photo for EVERY animal adopted - we let the adopters (and pets) "opt out" of the photo if they want, but still include the pet's name in the adopted list.

I'm curious as to how long (days/weeks) you wait to post these Going Home photos to your site or page? On more than one occasion, we have had an animal adopted only to be returned at a later date. How do you handle that?

Would anyone be willing to share your adoption/going home backgrounds at your shelter for adopted animals & their families going home? TIA
