This is a really solid idea, and I think there's definitely a gap in post-adoption support like this.
I've seen a few shelters/rescues offer bits and pieces (handouts, YouTube videos, blog posts), but a centralized video library specifically for adopters is still pretty rare.
I think one of the main reasons more shelters don't do it is simply capacity-most are already stretched thin with intake, medical care, behavior issues, and adoptions, so post-adoption support often ends up being more reactive than structured. Creating and maintaining consistent, high-quality content is also a big lift.
That said, your idea makes a lot of sense. Short, topic-specific videos on things like housetraining, resource guarding, and reactivity (with a clear note to seek professional help when needed) could really help improve placement success and reduce returns.

Subject: adopter video library
I volunteer at a municipal shelter and I was thinking of developing some short videos to help dog adopters after they leave the shelter. Adopters would first be encouraged to seek professional help first, but the videos would address things like resource guarding, housetraining, reactivity, just to name a few, and would be compiled in a video library that adopters could access. It seems like there aren't many shelters/rescues that have something like this to support adopters. Does anyone know of any that do? Or, do you have any thoughts on why more shelters don't provide something like this?
Thanks for your insights.
