The first ever California Adopt-a-Pet Day will take place on Saturday, June 1, with the goal of finding new homes for 2,024 animals across the state. This event has been organized by CalAnimals, the SF SPCA, and ASPCA to raise awareness and make pet adoptions affordable and accessible across California. CalAnimals member shelters can register for Adopt-a-Pet Day up until Friday, May 10, 2024 and the ASPCA will underwrite the subsidies for participating shelters that need support.
Our ask of California partners is 1) help us get the word out and more shelters signed up by this Friday, May 10th, and 2) help us get the word out to encourage adoptions on June 1!
