Hello All!
This past weekend I saw that the Univ. of FL just fired all their educators tied to teaching DEI in order to follow the new law, our state's leadership puts out messaging "Where WOKE Goes to Die" and so on. The increasing hostility towards DEI and anti-woke messaging across our state (FL) and the nation, had me wondering if any other NPOs had experienced denials of or shutdowns of their programs, particularly in their Open Arms Challenge (OAC) proposals if their programs involved participation in state or federally operated institutions such as prisons. This is a component we are working on developing for our OAC 2024 proposal with local prisons and I feared that with all the effort put into it, it will be a wasted effort tossed out as a show of force in a political maneuver. Also, did you mention the OAC at all in your proposals to these institutions or is that part irrelevant to their objectives?
We shall still commit to presenting this as part of our proposal but I wanted to be prepared for what we could be facing and if any of you had any suggestions on how it was presented publicly or to those state/federally operated institutions so they could accept our proposal.
Thank you all for your feedback to come and in the past.
