I had so much fun attending the Best Friends Conference early this month! This was my first year attending, and I was blessed to receive a scholarship for a continuing education course where I am depending my understanding of all I learned at the conference. This opportunity is especially important to me as I dive full-time into a new program at Paws Humane Society, where I aim to keep people and their pets together. The sessions that I attended at the conference included (but certainly were not limited to) the housing crisis for families with pets, the different ways to collaborate with organizations in my community, and how to work towards a community-supported sheltering system. I can't wait to implement all of the new things I learned throughout the conference, as well as what I am continuing to learn in the course at Southern Utah University, in my every day endeavors at Paws Humane Society in Columbus, GA. So neat to see so many working parts around the country to make us a no-kill by 2025!
