Bridging the Gap for Rural Community Cats Isolation: How do small rural rescues manage the medical and nutritional needs of community cats?

Hi! We are Radha's Wild and Wonderful Cat and Animal Haven in rural WV.  We are new here and really appreciate these discussions.

We operate a small cat sanctuary in rural West Virginia with only 1–2 volunteers. While our local residents have huge hearts and often step in as "accidental fosters," we face a constant uphill battle providing for the critical medical and nutritional needs of neglected wild cats.

Between the extreme distances to the nearest vet and the high cost of quality food for cats that arrive malnourished, our resources are stretched incredibly thin.

For those of you in similarly isolated areas:

*How do you secure consistent nutritional support (like food pantry partnerships) when there are no large pet stores nearby?

*Do you have any "mobile" vet or telehealth partnerships that actually work for your rural counties?

I'd love to hear how other "small and mighty" rescues are balancing these essential care costs with similar geographic hurdles! Thanks!
