Animal Welfare Professionals

I'm having trouble figuring this out.  I'd like to sell some items on Facebook Marketplace and have the proceeds go to the rescue, a 501(c)(3), that I work for.   I don't want to get into complicated accounting for my personal taxes.  Does Facebook offer a way I can declare I am donating proceeds to charity?  (I can't find this option).  Or can our rescue's Facebook account sell items on Marketplace?  Has anyone done this?  It's basically like a virtual yard sale.

To be honest, I don't have any idea about that. Maybe you can create a Facebook fundraiser for your rescue organisation and link it to your Marketplace listings. I would personally go this route.

I don't know about FB Marketplace, but we set up a store on eBay to sell items during the pandemic.  eBay lets you donate all or a portion of the profits to a charity account.  You don't need to set up a store, either, anyone can set up their item proceeds to go to a charity.  The seller gets a credit for the selling fees based on the percentage going to charity.  We just set up a store so we could link to our merchandise easily.

We are in a small rural location so having access to reach buyers globally was really helpful.  Anything "mailable" got sold that way. 99% of the items we listed on eBay went to buyers outside our area.

If you have items to sell locally, NextDoor also has a way to sell items to benefit a charity. Details are on their website.

In our area we have the on line franchise K-bid.com. Consignment type set up.here are other franchises of the same sort nationwide. We are lucky to have a drop off center in the town we live in. This sort of thing works for anything that is cost prohibitive for shipping...We  have an agreement with our local affiliate. We advertise to have donors of large ticket items, sporting goods, etc. to consign them with the proceeds going to us.

How did you get the charity added to the Ebay list? I've tried multiple times without success.  This is the easiest way to help fundraise for charity from my other lens as an advocate/supporter of GREY2KUSA.
