Hi everyone!
I'm Janel Griffieth, and I'm thrilled to be joining as your Community Conversations co-host for the month of September!
We have some great discussions coming up, including:

- Meeting Pets and People Where They Are: Practicing Trauma-Informed Outreach in Sacramento's Unhoused Community
- Not Just In and Out: Why the Next Generation of Community Clinics Looks Different
- Standing Alone, Standing Strong: Navigating Isolation in Animal Welfare
I can't wait to connect with all of you, hear your insights, and keep the conversation flowing. If you have any questions or topics you'd like to explore this month, feel free to drop them here!
See you on the calls!

Below, I have my reason why I joined animal welfare. That is my boy Dre. Dre was my soul dog. He was my heart, my soul, my everything. I adopted him when I was 22 and he was my first dog. Little did I know the tremendous impact he would have on my life and my healing. I owe everything to him.
The first picture is from our first year together. I was in college and had no clue how to raise a puppy. I was just figuring it out as I went.
The second picture is the day I had to say goodbye. The hardest day of my life. We had 11 great years together (which 100 years would have never been enough). He was with me through college, graduation, starting my career in this field, getting married, and purchasing my first home. We traveled many places together, walked miles and miles together side by side, and moved with me to different states. He was my protector, my best friend, and the greatest love of my life. Every animal and person I assist, I hope, is the moment they find their soul pet. Everyone deserves to feel that kind of love.
